Joanna’s 3D Art: May & June 2025

Back in March 2022, a writer friend introduced me to 3D art and rendering, and ever since, I’ve been exploring it, teaching myself the intricacies of producing good renders such as posing, lighting, and post work. In December 2022, I decided it was time to share what I accomplished, so I started posting images I created to social media.

This post collects all the pieces from the two month period, and I intend for it to be a start of a recurring series for all those who are too busy to keep up with social media posts. If you’d rather see them as they come, new images are posted on my FacebookInstagramX (Twitter)BlueskyThreads, and Mastodon every Wednesday.

You can view all the posts by browsing the 3D Art category.

Nishtu the Witch

A horned woman beside a wolf, both looking at the camera and smiling.

This character, Nishtu the Witch, was an effect of a lot of morphing of the original model (who was a male and didn’t have horns), but I like how she turned out. She even has a seed of a story about her…

Willow Maiden

A woman beside a willow in a misty forest.

When I was going through my 3d art, I realized that I haven’t shared so many! So here’s another one, Willow Maiden. The fog almost killed my old PC, but it was worth it!

Blue

A portrait of a woman

My 3D art usually stays firmly within fantasy and sci-fi worlds, but sometimes, I just want something simple. I was testing this model and she seemed perfect for a portrait in blue.

To War!

A girl riding a t-rex in a room full of plastic stegosauri

This is an older render, titled “To War!” but I thought it was be perfect for the International Children’s Day as it deals with the power of imagination.

Morning Surprise

A woman in mid-jump with a fantasy building behind her.

This render started like many others: testing the model, the outfit, the environment. Sometimes these pieces become happy accident I’m satisfied with. Sometimes, they’re just “an a-okay” images like this one.

There Are Two Wolves in You…

Two wolves in the ruins, one running majestically, the other tripping over itself, with a woman in the background facepalming.

This render was fun, though it took me three times to get the lighting to be appealing. Its title alone should explain the concept behind it.

Descent

A winged man falling.

This is another render from the “I’ll just try things out,” kind. And though I sometimes start working with a clear idea in mind, I also enjoy the fun of discovering how the image will end up. Sometimes, they turn out unexpectedly well or teach me something new.

Lucky Escape

A woman in a battle gear jumping over an obstacle with an explosion behind her.

Initially, this image was supposed to be just one 3d render, but my old PC was struggling with the explosions I added. So instead, I rendered the models in parts, adding appropriate lighting, and added special effects as 2d postwork. I think it turned out quite well…

I hope you enjoyed this collection. Which one is your favorite? And remember, new images are posted on my FacebookInstagramX (Twitter)BlueskyThreads, and Mastodon every Wednesday.
