When I’m writing these words, it’s been only a few days after I had finished the first draft of my standalone fantasy, Memories of Sorcery and Sand. There’s still a lot of work ahead of me, but the most important bit is done: I have laid what I hope is a solid structure to probably the most challenging story I attempted to write up to date.
And to be honest, part of me still can’t believe I pulled it off.
It’s been a while since I updated this blog. It’s been mostly due to my freelance workload and the determination to finish my writing project, but I also realized that the monthly update on my life has become slightly repetitive: focused on my writing, I do very little outside of it that would justify monthly reports. Therefore, I bulked the last three months together in a larger post. Next year, I might switch to quarterly updates or find another formula. Until then, here’s what has been going on in my life while I was quiet. (more…)
It’s been a while since I posted regularly. After nearly finishing the A to Z Challenge, I needed time to recuperate from intensive blogging, and I had to catch up with my writing. On top of that, the last two months were quite intensive work-wise, demanding my attention and time. So, with heavy heart, I decided to “disappear” for a while, including less presence on social media for the much-needed catching up with my priorities. (more…)
Oh what a month it was! When I was making plans for November, I’d never thought that cutting down on my activities would mean I’d get even busier! Shortly after it started, my freelance work took over, pushing everything else to the side, and making me chase various deadlines and last minute requests. As you can guess, it wrecked havoc among my perfect schedules. But, nevertheless, it turned out to be a splendid month. (more…)
As the year comes close to an end, I feel like I’m finally regaining my footing. I never expected that the move across the States that happened back in March would affect me so much and for so long, but it also came with a few other changes in my life, including starting to work more intensively as a freelancer. So the process of “getting back to the routine” was constantly disrupted, and whenever I felt like I was just getting there, something else came up. I’m still behind a few things, and I have little hope to catch up, but I’m doing my best moving forward. (more…)
Another month bites the dust, getting us closer to the end of the year. It’s been another strange month. I haven’t done as much as I had hope to, but at the same time, many things saw slow and steady progress, making me hopeful for the future. (more…)
August turned out a very weird month, riddled with both expected and unexpected distractions. As if life had figured out that since I had finally started to settle after the move and get back to my routines, it was time to spice things up a bit. Or maybe a lot. (more…)
As months continue to dash toward the end of the year, I’m back – yet again and seemingly way too soon – with my regular report on my writer’s life. The memories of my move across the States slowly fade, and I find myself rebuilding my routines. (more…)
Another month sped by me. If there was a time police, it would have gotten a ticket for reckless driving for sure. In comparison to the super-crazy March and April, May was the time of slowly settling down and checking whether my routine survived the turmoils of the “grand move”. Yet, after two months of struggling to keep going in a somewhat organize manner, I wasn’t about to exhaust myself even more and chose a slower pace instead. (more…)
January meant entering the fourth year of the writing challenge, and I even though I have my routine sorted already, I couldn’t resist joining again. 365 Writing Club does miracles when it comes to accountability.
