Back in March 2022, a writer friend introduced me to 3D art and rendering, and ever since, I’ve been exploring it, teaching myself the intricacies of producing good renders such as posing, lighting, and post work. In December 2022, I decided it was time to share what I accomplished, so I started posting images I created to social media.
This post collects all the pieces from the two month period, and I intend for it to be a start of a recurring series for all those who are too busy to keep up with social media posts. If you’d rather see them as they come, new images are posted on my Facebook, Instagram, X (Twitter), Bluesky, Threads, and Mastodon every Wednesday.

Petal

This was a quick render from the time I was testing my new PC and the new graphic card’s capabilities, and I just wanted to make something “quick and pretty.”
The Last of the Litter

This image might be a bit heart-wrenching. It’s one of those images where everything slowly came together: the elements I used, the lighting, and then the postwork.
Saeryn and Rasheh

This is an image that became an illustration for Memories of Sorcery and Sand. While this book isn’t a romance, one of its themes is falling in love at possibly the worst time and with the wrong person, with a relationship built on lies and deception.
Winter Mage

Since we were having a spell of a winter weather over here, I shared a themed image, a mix of non-realistic 3d render and 2d postwork, and it was my first foray into those techniques.
Finally Rich

A poor goblin adventurer who finally got lucky… and rich. Hopefully, that bliss will last for him.
Agent Ridiculous

This 3d art piece came to be, because I was having fun putting an absurd hat on a very serious alien. And went further from there, resulting in what you see: Agent Ridiculous.
She Wears the Stars

This piece of 3d art was mostly experimenting with wind simulation. It was tricky to figure out how to set up the wind so that the cloth would behave in an appealing way, and there were many failures along the way, but here it is.
Happy Holidays

A non-photorealistic render shared for the holiday season.
Let’s Discuss It Somewhere Else

Since this was is the last day of the old year, a 3d art piece featuring a portal seemed like a good choice. It’s been now, I think, 3 years since I started sharing my 3d art, but I’m primarily author, not an artist. Do you enjoy seeing it here? Should I continue it in 2026?
