Back in March 2022, a writer friend introduced me to 3D art and rendering, and ever since, I’ve been exploring it, teaching myself the intricacies of producing good renders such as posing, lighting, and post work. In December 2022, I decided it was time to share what I accomplished, so I started posting images I created to social media.
This post collects all the pieces from the two month period, and I intend for it to be a start of a recurring series for all those who are too busy to keep up with social media posts. If you’d rather see them as they come, new images are posted on my Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and Mastodon every Wednesday.
Without further ado, this is the collection of my renders from December 2022 and January 2023.
Heart of Corruption
This wasn’t the first render I made, but the first complete scene.
A Robot and a Pup
The robot and the pup seemed a perfect match for each other, and I wanted to add a cozy winter feel to the image with some post work.
Sunny Glade
This is one of my earliest works (can you spot the mistakes I made?), but I still like it. The character is inspired by one of the stories I plan on writing one day.
The Lost Mummy
I posted this image on the first day of winder, thinking I’d share something appropriate for the occasion. This poor mummy is lost in the world of ice and snow…
Little Witch Plotting
You might already know that I have a soft spot for witches, so it’s not a surprise that I rendered (more than) one. What is this little witch plotting? Perhaps someone should watch out for low flying curses!
New Year
I wanted share something cute and positive for the beginning of 2023, hoping it would become our lucky charm for the year.
An Old Photograph
Not much story behind this one, though as I worked on it, I decided to try making it look like an old photograph.
Suspicion
This time, I shared three pictures, or rather 3 versions of a picture. Those two fairies are clearly out to get each other—which version do you like the most?
Dragon’s Treasure
Remember that meme about a tiny dragon living in the marketplace whose hoard consist of one coin? Well, for this Wednesday’s render, I have a picture inspired by that story.
I hope you enjoyed this little collection. Which one is your favorite?
