Back in March 2022, a writer friend introduced me to 3D art and rendering, and ever since, I’ve been exploring it, teaching myself the intricacies of producing good renders such as posing, lighting, and post work. In December 2022, I decided it was time to share what I accomplished, so I started posting images I created to social media.
This post collects all the pieces from the two month period, and I intend for it to be a start of a recurring series for all those who are too busy to keep up with social media posts. If you’d rather see them as they come, new images are posted on my Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and Mastodon every Wednesday.
Orc Portrait
This is one of my older works. I was playing around with studio-like shots. Of course, I couldn’t settle for a human model.
Go faster!
I had a lot of fun with this one, especially doing some post work. And don’t ask me why there’s a kraken in this tunnel. I didn’t have a dinosaur model back then. 😉
Nature Photography
With the summer beginning in the northern hemisphere, so I chose a themed render: one of the few that isn’t fantasy or science fiction at all.
In the Rain
With the weather having been somewhat rainy for a few weeks, so I decided to share a rain-themed render. Does he look more miserable or menacing to you?
A New Friend
This faerie seems to have made a new friend…
Seeking Wisdom
I had fun with working on the lights and shadows.
“Oh, My God, It’s Full of Stars…!”
With the Space Exploration Day around the corner, I picked a related render. This one was inspired by the classic, 2001: Space Odyssey, and “My God, it’s full of stars…”
Ice Queen
This ice queen got lost in a wrong place. This render took a lot of work: changing the light, the character’s pose, compositing foreground and background, and post work.
I hope you enjoyed this collection. Which one is your favorite? And remember, new images are posted on my Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and Mastodon every Wednesday.
