Joanna’s 3D Art: February & March 2023

Back in March 2022, a writer friend introduced me to 3D art and rendering, and ever since, I’ve been exploring it, teaching myself the intricacies of producing good renders such as posing, lighting, and post work. In December 2022, I decided it was time to share what I accomplished, so I started posting images I created to social media.

This post collects all the pieces from the two month period, and I intend for it to be a start of a recurring series for all those who are too busy to keep up with social media posts. If you’d rather see them as they come, new images are posted on my Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and Mastodon every Wednesday.

The Barbarian

This render was a homage to one of my favorite classics: Conan.

A Wolf Rider

A wolf rider. (No story behind it: I was just trying out a new model).

An Offering

This one is called “An Offering”. Do you think it’ll be enough for the dragon?

Supply Run

The supply runs on remote planets with little civilization and a lot of dangerous creatures aren’t always the safest… (Ok. I just wanted an excuse to use my zombie dog model!)

You Want Me to Make WHAT?!

In case you’re wondering, this poor alchemist is saying, “You want me to make WHAT?!”

Dreaming

This render features the character you’ve seen above, but this time she’s in a more dreamy setting. This was one of those renders where I was just having fun and experimenting.

A Castle in the Woods (with a Dragon)

I was working on an autumn scene with a castle, and although I liked it, it felt like it was missing something. So I added a dragon, because everything’s better with a dragon, right?

Dancing Goblin

Spring is here, in the northern hemisphere… well, at least according to the calendar, but Wednesday is definitely here, so I decided to share a properly optimistic render for the occasion. I confess, I was in a silly mood when I was making this one…

Baiting

In this one, mermaids are conning their prey. I spent some time posing the mermaids’ tails only to realize that at the camera angle I chose, they aren’t visible, except a little bit in the bottom right corner

I hope you enjoyed this collection. Which one is your favorite? And remember, new images are posted on my Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and Mastodon every Wednesday.
