Back in March 2022, a writer friend introduced me to 3D art and rendering, and ever since, I’ve been exploring it, teaching myself the intricacies of producing good renders such as posing, lighting, and post work. In December 2022, I decided it was time to share what I accomplished, so I started posting images I created to social media.
This post collects all the pieces from the two month period, and I intend for it to be a start of a recurring series for all those who are too busy to keep up with social media posts. If you’d rather see them as they come, new images are posted on my Facebook, Instagram, X (Twitter), Bluesky, Threads, and Mastodon every Wednesday.
You can view all the posts by browsing the 3D Art category.
Robot
For the beginning of May, I decided to share a nature-related render: a robot and a butterfly.
One Angry Fairy Godmother
This render was fun to make. Somebody wasn’t invited to the party and is quite angry about it…
Faildeer
This one was made for my friend who wanted some peaceful nature. I called it a “Faildeer” as the amount of fog and environment made my PC choke and rendered poorly. Fortunately, there’s always postwork to improve images, right?
Of Life and Death
This one felt like perfect for May, though if you look closely, it’s not exactly an idyllic image.
I Can’t Believe We Crashed Again…!
This image came to be because I loved the model of a cyberpunk truck, and I wanted to do something fun with it. This one took a fair amount of kitbashing—using parts of various models to create the end result—and some postwork.
Orc Female, 23, Looking for Love
This image came together purely because I liked the model, and was playing with it. And as a result, “Orc Female, 23, Looking for Love” came to be. No other story behind it, just na idea of an orc on a dating app.
